Upcoming Sony Xperia Z. DAC?
Beats Audio is just software processing/eq'ing, can't match hardware chip, like Wolfson DAC. My current phone is dying after a brief moment in hot noodle soup bath and am in the market for a replacement phone/pmp. I always loved Sony Walkman and I still do have S545 with E17. I was hoping...- Sonnyt

TDK BA200 Thread
I will have to stop reading this forum! just got my FXT90L2 back in January and though I loved it, I wanted little more depth and width. From what you posted so far it sounded like BA200 definitely have that. I'm curious as to what I would gain coming from FXT90L2. thanks for sharing..- Sonnyt

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
Quote: Right, I was talking about "amount" of bass present. I was, too, somewhat skeptical and toiled over FXT90, GR07 and RE262. From what I heard so far, it is fairly flat and "fun" with a small hump in mid-bass - of course, that could also mean it was the source material, putting...- Sonnyt

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
Quote: From just having it burned in for little over 36 hours, the bass is full and quite punchy, to my ears. I also have AKG K518DJ, known for over emphasized bass, the bass in FXT90 is very similar - just as full and impactful. I say the original tip brings out the bass and other...- Sonnyt

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
Quote: I just browsed through eBay and thought I saw some sellers selling the limited edition. anyway, as for the difference in cables - I don't have the original black version but I read somewhere that the limited edition is little more microphonic. From what I can tell so far...- Sonnyt

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
I made the purchase on 22nd, received shipping notification on the 25th and received on the 28th. I did not expected until the 6th or so. The cable has the feel of cloth and less of sticky rubber.- Sonnyt

JVC HA-FXT90 Thread
Just received my FXT90L2 from Japan. The shipping was lightning fast! Extremely surprise by the seller's commitment. I I was even more surprised by the quality of the cable, has less of rubbery feel to it. My initial impressions: It is every bit like what I got from...- Sonnyt

VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
Quote: Thanks for your impression. I don't suppose I could go wrong with either one. I will be using with FiiO E17, if it ever gets delivered, hope that it'll be the extra "frosting" on already a good cake.- Sonnyt

VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread
I'm so close to pulling the trigger either on RE262 or GR07, and still can't decide. In idealistic world, I would love both slightly colored lows with ample punches, clear mids and crispy but non-fatiguing trebles with excellent depth and width - can one of these do better than the other? I...- Sonnyt

AKG K81/518 DJ/LE Thread and *Review*
Thanks. I saw your pics with the pad, looks pretty darn nice. How is the sound isolation with those pads? I saw the pads selling at eBay for well over $30US. I paid just $49.00 for a new set of the K81DJ - don't know if it's worth it to shell out that much more for pads. I would love to...- Sonnyt

[Review] HiFiMAN RE262 - Sophisticated and Beautiful
Quote: Sorry to jump in. I am very interested in either GR07 or RE-262, but still having reservation. I like plentiful and impactful bass (rock/electronica) and I fear either one of these might disappoint. At the moment, after reading Syphen606's impression, I'm at a distant with the...- Sonnyt

AKG K81/518 DJ/LE Thread and *Review*
Quote: I, too, like my modded K81DJ. Although I have average head, it is somewhat tight and hurts top of my head if I wear it longer than 30 minutes. Anyway, here's my modded can. It's not as fancy as what most people have done, but it is functional and a definite...- Sonnyt

Which is better Hifiman RE-262, VSONIC GR07 or Sony MDR-EX600
Quote: Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences. It sounds like RE-262s might benefit from amping due to lower sensitivity and higher impedance. I don't suppose "amp"ing the RE-262 will make it little more faster, perhaps near GR07? I'm not familiar with whether...- Sonnyt
