Woo 1 and K501
That really sucks as it was looking great and in my price range. I'll have to keep an eye on the for sale forum. I was also considering a gilmore lite, but at $90 more I thought it'd be worth trying a tube based amp for once.- Smurf

Woo 1 and K501
I'm not completely happy with my HS classic and 501 combo I want more of a warm lush sound. The Woo 1 would seem to fit the bill thanks to gsferrari's excelent review. It's lush warmer sound could be what the 501's asked for in terms of adding some bass impact. Also at the $390 price it fits...- Smurf

Help newb get into Jazz... MS-1, K501...?
The K501's are great for jazz, but I think your amp may be the weak link in the chain with these. They take alot of juice and I don't know if your amp can properly drive them to give them the 'umph' particularly in the bass region.- Smurf

Sub for Headphones?
I think with open headphones it'd drownd out the sound. You'll never get the body shaking bass feeling that you get from a home theatre sadly. You could try something like the 'bass shakers' I don't know how well they work though I'm sure you could find something on head-fi about them.- Smurf

AKG K501 vs Sennheiser HD580
Because you listen mainly to rock/pop music I'd reccomend the grados. The K501's really can't rock at all. I own the K501 and a Headsave Classic and they just don't have the in your face slam that lends to a good rock headphone. Of course modern recordings don't help. Some of my favourite...- Smurf

I sent you a PM inquiring about having you rewire my K501s. How much bass is added exactly?- Smurf

Using a dp-u50 for an amp...
A headsave homevibe could do the trick, they're about $85. If you don't have that much you could get a go-vibe. www.headsave.com- Smurf

What to get next?
The classic is a great amp (I have one myself). For its price it's one of the best proformers out there.- Smurf

650s just came in!
They'd probably benifit alot more from a more powerful amp and/or source I don't know if the PCII has enough juice let alone the airhead to drive them to their fullest.- Smurf
