The Fiio X3 Thread.
Hi David, I understand now. My adapter looks TS. Funnily enough I was looking on an AV site and someone suggested using a 3.5mm to two RCA's just plugging in the one. I happen to have one (Cambridge Audio) as I used to plug my Fiio straight in to my hifi with it whereas now it goes...- slawts

Hi David, Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid I don't know what TS or TRRS is but take it that the L21 is a no go. Do you know what would be an alternative. I still have the original adaptor which I'm using with a standard coax but want a spare. I've looked at the Chord Clearway but...- slawts

Hi, This is possibly a silly question. Does the L21 adapter coax cable work with the first gen X3's? I only ask as they specifically state X3 - II in the marketing material? Steve- slawts

Audiolab Q-DAC
I've just bought one of these for £149 and am stunned at its capability. I use a Fiio X3 as source through VTL and XTC amps and KEF Reference speakers. For the price it's astonishing and more listenable than my Naim CD5x. I haven't even tried the headphone socket yet. Remarkable!- slawts

The Fiio X3 Thread.
I really like the 3.4 final firmware. It sounds much clearer and reminds me of a Denon DL304 cartridge that I used to own. The treble had filigree detail that made steel strings steely and cymbals shimmer. I thought initially that the bass was worse but it's not. It's less "phat" and more...- slawts

The Fiio X3 Thread.
I have to agree that 2.14 was the first seismic shift from DAP to HiFi for the X3 and I was knocked out when I first tried it. I went on to 3.0 which sounded a big step down then on to 3.0 exfat and 3.2 which were returned to the 2.14 theme. I'm perfectly happy with 3.21 as I find the sound...- slawts

FiiO X3 firmware 3.21 download and discussion thread
Not tried gapless but resume mode working fine. I like it. It does feel more stable and sound signature excellent. Can't really tell much difference in sound between 3.0 exfat, 3.2 or this but I prefer it to 3.0. Maybe a touch more clarity or maybe my imagination. -

Me too. 'Im on 3.0 exfat and have had to switch last track off as it plays then plays a track off the internal memory. As much as I like the Yessongs version of Perpetual Change there are only so many times in a day. Haven't tried 3.2 yet but do prefer the exfat sound to 3.0.- slawts

FiiO X3 beta firmware 3.00EX available for download. Added beta ExFAT support
Been running EXFat for a week. I had a similar problem to one of the posters. When I played music from a 64gb Kingston card on switch on it had the song I was playing in the main content and the last song I played from the internal memory at the bottom. It switched to the next song on the... -

Is MP3tag easy to use? I'm ripping most of my files with Foobar (Flac) then putting them on a Kingston 64g micro SD. The song order is sometimes scrambled (mainly alphabetical) and so I go back in and number the songs to get them in order. My card has been freezing recently so I've wiped it...- slawts

Trolldragon - my apologies. I was fairly fed up with the X3 last night and vented my spleen far too much in your direction. I thought you were a bit flippant with PRS but undeserving of a broadside. I hope you'll accept mea culpa. I think the problem with my little 'ol X3 centres around the...- slawts
