Can I suggest Miceblue as a XL pad tester? Don't know where he lives in the States but wherever he is I'd value his opinon on them.

Hell forget about XL. I'm not after clowns shoes in a pad I'd settle for something marginally deeper. Just a wee few millimeters.

This issue has raised itself spontaneously on every page of this thread since the beginning of the yr... Makes me wish for a sticky post on the subject. No better yet it makes me wish for XL pads.

Could be interesting Apo0th3karY. Maybe one of the Mod threads could suggest how to boost isolation. My guess is that the solid plastic earcup of the HD-25 is what gives it edge over the M-100s despite being an on-ear HP. Being metallic and airy it might be a challange to Mod without...

agreed. the HD-25s isolation is about all they have over the M-100s. if i still had a pair i wouldn’t use them for home listening.

For most situations/venues I hadn't noticed an issue with their isolation. I've been using them at a weekly night at a bar where there is'nt even a monitor and mixing in my headphones. But the club I played for this party had a ridiculous set up with house speakers hanging off the roof...

I haven't tried the LPs so I'm not sure what their isolation is like. Weren't vents on the cups one of the M-100's design innovations that improved their sound sig (airflow like an open HP on a closed design)?? I can't remember but MiceBlue I'm sure you will. Perhaps the airflow improves sound...

Oh and while I still love these HPs I noticed something last weekend that makes me think they're not great as a DJ HP. I played at a party where the rig was really loud where the DJ was setup and found that their open'ish design didn't give me enough isolation in my cue ear to drown out the room...

I dont know that a cable lock would save your HPs either if someone snatched them as abruptly as that. I'm keen to learn more or see a cheeky photo of the coilpro however. Most of my HP listening is at a fixed console so I'm a big fan of coiled cords.

you can purchase spare m-80 and crossfade lp cases via vmoda so hopefully the m-100 case will be made avail too in time.
