Koss KSC75 Impressions
What a comprehensive and great review. A tight headband mod with the sennheiser 414 kramer modded pads, might make them look a little weird and yellow, but it increases the sound value compared to the clips. Add a 75 ohm resistor, decent amplification and a reasonable equivilant source, I...- silkeborg

Do I have an ER-4P or ER-4S?
Still sounds like you have have added additional resistance to it, adding the impedance cable to the P-version gives it a more clearer or transparant sound, but also means you have the increase the volume to receive or hear the same output- silkeborg

Do I have an ER-4P or ER-4S?
Have you measured the total impedance after you paralled the resistor, how did the output level sound afterwards, more or less?- silkeborg

Altec Lansing iM716 initial impressions (pre burn-in, un-modded, with some comparisons with Denon C700 et al)
I assume that using im616 with different resistor adaptors can give the same results?- silkeborg

I remember seen this DanT mod with the switches, quite impressive, was thinking about trying it out, but then again remembered my soldering limitation.. A250 sound interesting, but as I remember it´s not really out on the marked anymore?- silkeborg

To my ears the Nuforce-E7 with shure fomies has (just tried it today), as somebody mentioned, has the sennheiser characterics. Where as the im716 has more of a grado sound. I certainly enjoy both to use with different types of music.- silkeborg

Aren´t you just adding more resistance to them?- silkeborg

Sounds like you got the ER-4S. The P version has got an impedance around 26ohm or so, and then when you add the resistor cable of 75 ohm you have the S.- silkeborg

I can´t compare the 716 to the RE2, but comparing it to fex. super fi.3 or 5 etymotic 6i, denon 751, nuforce 7, it IMO definately don´t fall behind in soundstage and details, although it´s an an old timer... I have been using it with Rio karma, which amps it wonderfully, and also with the clip...- silkeborg

where to get X3i's... or look for alternatives?
I prefer the PL-12 over the PL-30, they don´t fit me very well and I enjoy the sound signature of the PL-12 much better. I believe they are based on the same driver.- silkeborg

PL-30 vs Altec Lansing Upgrader UHP336 (Rebranded Super fi. 3)
The shure olives improves the sound sound and comfortability of the SF3, they just need a little adjustment to fit them on the nozzle. I gave my wife a pair of red SF3 last year, and it introduced her to hi-fi heaven. I also ordered a pair of the UHP336 at 40 dollars, for the purpose to recable...- silkeborg

Don´t get the Bijou´s 3, they don´t sound like the X3i´s at all, they are much more bassy. Check out the soundmagics PL-12, they are basically the same as the X3i, regarding design and soundsignature- silkeborg
