Selling my excellent audio-gd HE9 (regenerative power supply amp) from 2021. Bought brand new directly from audio-gd and paid a lot of customs on it. I've had little time for audio these due to family commitments so letting this go. I'd challenge you to get better sound quality for this price...

Excellent condition Hifiman Arya for sale. I love these so much I have two of them. I don't need my backup pair which I've lightly used so here it is. I can optionally also include the Moon Audio Blue Dragon cable for another $150 (totally worth it for the sound quality boost).

IME, generally preamps will have a greater effect than most sources, so that's where I'd spend money first.

The Yggy A2 (which I owned for quite a while) is not in the same league as the R7HE and to me, apart from some subtle microdetail, wasn't even as as good as my Reference 7.1 from Audio-gd when the latter was paired with the DI20HE. The rest I haven't heard.

Congrats, great setup. I had the Yulong DAC and man digital has come a ways since then. I bet the Chord was adding a lot to the setup you heard.

I agree, I strongly prefer speaker amps for the SR1a (and all of my headphones). The HSA1b and JotR serve as travel amps in my case.

Without baffle compensation, the HSA1b does colour the sound of conventional HPs to some extent but mildly so (definitely less than most tube amps I owned/heard). I feel part of it may be your DAC's MO coming through.

Agree with this. The Jot R does have more accurate, sharper transients with better imaging focus. But as a tradeoff, it sounds smaller, drier and often harsher in the treble.

Had the wife listen to the SR1a and TC briefly. Without giving any of my thoughts, she explained that the SR1a (+ subwoofer) sounds "more impressive, as if the sounds are actually in front of you or you're in the room where the musicians are" whereas the TC "sound more like typical headphones...

Have been casually observing the threads. I've felt no need to look for reviews for anything...the SR1a fully open + sub combination continues to be beguiling to the point of occasional disbelief. I'm listening to this setup more than all of my other stuff combined. It's great to feel an itch...

This is exactly the feeling I immediately had. Repeatedly having to take off the SR1a to check if speakers were on got annoying fast. In a lot of ways, they were better than speakers despite my general preference for the latter. Changing gears back to the TC, IMO it's the best complete package...

You'd like the REL S or T series for music or the KEF KC62, which is among the best for ease of integration. Rythmik sealed offerings are also quite good. The SVS is slightly below in quality (for purely music) but the reason I chose them was because of their built-in parametric digital EQ, and...
