Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
I had done this multiple times. Paying closer attention, here's what happens each time: it says "updating music database" and counts the files, but when it gets to file 201, the R3 reboots, coming back to a screen saying "no music found." Without knowledge of how Hiby's OS works, to me that...- Scars Unseen

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
Okay, this is weird. I reformatted the card, and my R3 still can't find anything when it scans for new music, but I can find them just fine if I navigate by file structure, and the R3 plays the songs.- Scars Unseen

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP
Does the microSD card need to have a specific format? If I connect my R3 Pro Saber to my PC via USB, my PC sees the files, but my R3 itself can't find anything when it scans for music.- Scars Unseen

Recommendations on amp for VR, HD6xx
Basically, I'm looking at something to improve on the built in sound on my Oculus Quest 2. I currently have a Sennheiser HD6xx and a Beyerdynamic DT 880 (25 ohm version), but since the former has a replaceable cord, I was planning on using that and replacing the cord with a shorter version when...- Scars Unseen

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
Okay, so I got the Voshkods that I ordered, and I'm trying out tube rolling for the first time. No burn in time yet; just fresh into the socket. First test using Bela Fleck - Tales from the Acoustic Planet. My headphones are Beyerdynamic DT 880 Premiums. First thing I noticed was that I...- Scars Unseen

I'll take that advice, thanks. I figure I'll slowly build up a collection to try out and see what I like.- Scars Unseen

Japanese Jazz
I'm not sure that this quite what you're looking for, but the recent(and amazing) anime Shouwa Genroku Rakago Shinjuu had some very enjoyable jazz-influenced music.- Scars Unseen

Sound in the System Shock Remake
I'm actually kind of surprised that I haven't seen this here yet. For those unaware, Nightdive Studios managed to grab the rights to the System Shock IP(for those unaware of what that is, it's the 90s predecessor to the Bioshock series), and the sound designer/composer, Jonathon Peros, has been...- Scars Unseen

Which microphone with open headphones?
I don't often play multiplayer games, and consequentially, I don't have a dedicated gaming mic setup. What I do have is a MXL 990 condensor mic running through an Alesis Multimix 8 USB. I can't speak for how effective it is, but at the least, no one's complained about it yet.- Scars Unseen

Tracks of phenomenal audio quality?
There are worse places to look than the Grammy awards for Best Engineered Albums, Classical and Non-Classical. EDIT: As for personal picks, Steven Wilson can put some sounds together. My favorites are Fear of a Blank Planet(Sleep Together is especially great to listen to on headphones)...- Scars Unseen

Any opinion on little Dot DACs?
So, right now, I've got a pair of DT880s and a little Dot mk III amp, but my current DAC is just a cheap on I bought because my PC's sound card started generating line noise, so it's about time to upgrade. It seems like a silly question, but I was wondering how well the little Dot DACs pair...- Scars Unseen

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
So despite having owned my little Dot mk III for about 5 year now, I never got into tube rolling. I decided that needs to change. I'm starting out looking for some relatively inexpensive tubes to try out, and I started with a matched pair of Voshkod 6ZH1P-EVs that I found for $16 on ebay...- Scars Unseen

Mouse -Fi
I'm more of a trackball kind of guy, so I use a CST L-tracX. 3200 cpi(configurable) and the perfect size and shape to fit my hand without making me do the "eagle claw" like some other trackballs do. It's solid as a rock, and where some companies void your warranty for taking a mouse apart...- Scars Unseen
