How would the sound be when paired with E17? Would the E17 be too much for these HPs?

Since I haven't tried those in your list, I don't have an idea if they will be comfy or not. Better to try them out in a headphone retail store before proceeding to the check out counter.   However, if you are looking more on the bass side, as I presume with your genres, Beyerdynamics's...

Also, if there is a nice portable DAC/AMP which will be a good complement to the headphones suggested, please feel free to share! Thanks.   For a started, I am thinking about getting the FiiO, possibly E7 or E17. However, since the X3 is coming soon, I am now undecided.    Cheers!

The Story: For quite some time, I was used to enjoy good music from a nice setup of speaker system. Since moved to this new place, I had to live with sounds from an Android phone or a PC without sound card. My thirst for quality sound got worse every day, and I found myself not listening...
