Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Flysweep: How did you sell a custom IEM?  Just curious.  Who else would buy it since it only fits your ears?   I have no plans to sell my AUD 7X!  I still love 'em.

Audioengine D1 vs HRT Headstreamer vs Fiio E17

I have an Audioengine D1.  I use it both with some Sennheiser HD239s and with some DreamEarz Aud 7X custom In-ear monitors.  It sounds good through both, though of course the Aud 7Xs are fantastic.  (I recommend checking them out if you are in the market for IEMs).   I like the sound quality...

Welcome to the re-fit club Xingz!  Well at least Mitch is very nice about it and is easy to deal with.

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Well I've had the chance over the holidays to wear the Aud 7X extensively.  In addition to my earlier comments praising the sound and noting the improvement vs the 5X in mids and highs, I'm now pleased to say they fit comfortably.  The first set I got really hurt to wear after only 10 or 15...

I'll let you know about how they are for extended sessions as soon as I have a chance to use this pair (the one that fits) in that way.  I'll probably get my chance over the holidays...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by brightness.   I don't think the 7Xs color the mid-range or low frequencies (although there is more mid-range there). The highs are more additive.  Something like a high cymbal comes through clearer and stronger. If you are listening to audio with highs you...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

I've found the DreamEarz Aud 7X to be way superior to the 5X! Here is my story. I'm a amateur musician (guitar, bass) and a first time In Ear Monitor buyer. I bought several pairs of mid-range ($100-$200) non-custom in-ear buds but my ears are shaped such that they kept falling out. So I gave...

Dream Earz aud-5X Custom IEM Review: Pure Value @ $565 - Also the appreciation thread!

Does anyone have any color recommendations / experience with different colors?  I'm planning to buy my first ever custom-fit in-ear headphones and I'm thinking these Aud 5X seem very good.   But there are a lot of colors on the site.  Is there anything to be aware of?  Do some show dirt more...
