Seeking closed circumaural headpones, ~$100, must be comfortable with large cups

Thanks yes, i'm aware of the theoretical role of ohms/impedance and amplifiers - what I am unsure of is how much difference (practically) 32ohms will make over 64ohms when played from a phone/laptop - I need to offset this difference against size/comfort, as the largest and comfiest looking pair...

Seeking closed circumaural headpones, ~$100, must be comfortable with large cups

Hmm, to be honest I've had a reasonable amount of discomfort with in ears in the past too. I think I just prefer the idea of being able to whip them off easily whenever I need, not getting wax on them and not having something in my ear canal to be honest. I was also under the assumption...

Is buying 64ohm headphones for use with a phone/laptop (no amplifier) a bad idea?

Thanks for the responses guys. Purple Angel, how light are we talking? Do you think they would feel underpowered listening to something like Burial? Thanks for the recommendation, however how big are the cups? I require large, totally over the ear circumaural cups.

Is buying 64ohm headphones for use with a phone/laptop (no amplifier) a bad idea?

Hi I'm aware that portable players are better suited to lower impedance headphones. I'm considering buying a 64ohm pair of headphones: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LINDY-HF-100-Premium-Hi-Fi-Headphones-Black/dp/B0057P09EK/ref=cm_rdp_product_img The reason I am strongly considering this pair...
