    Significant upgrade from SRH940?

I bought a pair to T70 (250ohm) when my SRH940 broke for the second time. I ended up sending the T70 back and just waiting for the 940s to come back from Shure. The T70 had quite a bit less sub bass than the 940 unless I pushed the cups fairly hard against my head. I did not think they had any...

Shure SRH-940 Crack and their service!

Quote: I have had the 940s for better than a year now and was just at CanJam yesterday and got to listen to the T70. The T70 sounds extremely close to the 940. Unfortunately I did not see a 940 at the show so I could compare both while I was there but I did put my 940s on when I got home a...

Shure SRH-940 Crack and their service!

I have the same cracks on my SRH940. They have been there since November. I use mine daily for many hours a day, I listen to them at work all day.  The cracks keep getting a little worse but so far they have not broken. I contacted Shure about it and sent pictures. I asked for spare parts to...

Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread

I put the 240G hard drive in my 5th generation iPod 3 years ago. This was originally a 60G iPod. It's still working fine and has been used just about every day of it's life.

Using high end headphone rigs/actually any headphone rigs in the office...

I use an iPod 5th gen docked to an E9i with SRH950's at work. I am a software geek so I spend almost every moment that I'm not in a meeting with my headphones on. Its the only way I can get anything done. There are too many distractions in the office when you are trying to concentrate on writing...

    Two questions to you all

Had my ears checked out and a hearing test just a couple of months ago. My hearing results were "Great for my age" according to the doctor. I just wish I could have back the hearing that I had in my 20's!

Upgrade from a 5th Gen iPod (Video)

Quote: I thought I needed a new one a few months ago as well. I have a 5.5 with a 240G drive in it. I got a new touch 4th gen 64G. I still find myself still using the 5.5 about 75% of the time. More storage and smart play lists that actually work right trump the new one for...

How many pairs of headphones do you own?

2 Full size 4 IEMS   The two that I use the most: SRH940 for use at home and the office (Thinking about some open backs for home, perhaps the new Shure offering will persuade me to get them for home use) DBA02 for on the go.

Is there any way to play music on my stereo system wirelessly from my phone/laptop?

You may want to take a look at this software: http://rogueamoeba.com/ It looks like it could do what you are after.

Have any of you found your holy grail?

For portable the DBA-02 is my favorite so far. I still don't think they are the end all be all of IEMs for me but they may be as far as I am willing to go. For headphones, the SRH940 has got me completely hooked.

    shure 940 and amps?

I'm using a Fiio E9i with mine right now. It's not a night and day difference between just plugging them into an iPod touch 4g but it is a difference. The biggest difference is in the bass. With the E9i there is more bass with better definition and the low bass really comes alive. I also use...

    Replaygain and crossfade on iOS

I use an app called iVolume. http://www.mani.de/en/ivolume/index.html It uses the replay gain algorithm and can calculate based on an entire album vs. just a single song. It then translates the replay gain numbers to sound check numbers and updates your iTunes library.  It works very well...

DIY speakers worth it with premade cabinets?

Quote: This book is excellent for explaining speaker design: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudspeaker_Design_Cookbook It's a lot to digest but well worth it even if your not going to build your own.
