    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I also have both SR325is and HD650, I also prefer the latter mostly because I love classical music, especially romantic. I really love to listen to some rock when SR325is is very well drived. It is a completely different sensation from HD650.

If someone buy me the headphone (any price), but not the amp and CD player, which one of the follwoing should I choose - HD600,T90,HD800,T1?

I bought a Yulong D200 for my HD650, and a SCD200se for my speakers. Hopefully I will get a independent headphone amp next year.

    HD800+$500 amp?Or HD600 + $1500 amp?

I agree with you. I finally got a pair of HD650...Violins do not overshadow bass and cellos, which is perfect for Brahams, Beethoven.

    HD800+$500 amp?Or HD600 + $1500 amp?

I prefer both Beyer and Sennheiser over any other brands. Why is HD800 worse than HD600 for orchestral work? I thought the sound stage and seperation is much better...is it possibly due to amp?

I am not capable of that sort of thing yet

How do you think of T1 and T90?

It is too high-end. but I will consider it if I don't want to upgrade in the future...but according to you, the mechanical parts are vulnerable so I prefer to buy a less expensive one and upgrade later... In a few days, I am going to the home of Shanling - Shenzhen, China. Hopefully I will...

Please recommend a SACD player under $1500?

I mostly listen to classical music, both solo, chamber, and orchestral, but not including vocal, so the vocal performance is not relevant in my selection of SACD players. I have some collections of SACDs, but haven't been able to experience the SACD layer, I really want to taste what SACDs sound...

    HD800+$500 amp?Or HD600 + $1500 amp?

If the source is good enogh, Which one would give the best outcome for listening to classical music? Besides Sennheiser, I am also considering beyerdynamic T1 or T90. So a similar question would be "T1+$700 amp? Or T90+$1300 amp?"

Thanks a lot, it helps. But I am going to buy a decent amp (around $700 range), so I might need a higher-end player.

The computer-DAC function is very tempting, but I wouldn't really use computer as a source since I really rely on the disks. I am also considering other brand such as Yamaha, Denon (I prefer Yamaha since I have been using its old model for many years). There are many recommend...

I have some SACDs I heard a lot saying that CD6000 series are very competitive at $500 price range. But I don't see any similar comments on SA8000 series...Is SACD the only difference between these two players? Or SA8005 also plays CD better than CD6005?
