What are some good DAC projects out there?
Will one of those NOS dacs such as the one at diyparadise.com noticeably outperform the hi-res output on my chaintech av710? if I were to build the dac I would be connecting the dac to the optical output on the chaintech.- phugger

Full review: Sonic Impact T-amp (long)
Does anybody know where to get this sonic impact amp for cheap? I froogled and I've found it for 20 bucks but they're all from seemingly shady-looking stores. I know ecost has it for around 20, but they haven't had them in stock for a while. Thanks.- phugger

Alpha Potentiometers
The alpha rv122 I tried made some real scratchy noises when I turned them. Not a clean sound at all. I have another but I never tried it. I use clarostat 585 pots which I got from state-elec.com for around 3.33 each ( I bought 6 of them.) shipped. These are really really small, and sound...- phugger

my tin amp [56k warning]
Theres a slide switch. I had to mount it on a sip socket because I couldn't fit the whole board in when the switch was soldered onto the board. It sounds really good, about as good as my pimeta clone.- phugger

my tin amp [56k warning]
I built an amp based on the MINT schematic on tangent's site, however, with a few added extras. There's jfet cascodes, 4 470uf nichicon power caps, socketed opamp and buffers and socketed gain resistors... all built on a radioshack perf board. That's a clarostat 585 pot. I got 6 of them from...- phugger

buffered CMOY in Eclipse mint tin (~300k)
Do the switches have to be isolated? I see that the CUI one i linked above explicitly says the switch is so. I found some at mouser http://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/0416295.pdf Would these work? The lugs seem like they are too big for a regular protoboard, though I'm trying to...- phugger
