Thanks for your response. Both the Ortofons aren't very impressive. That's good to know, so I only can improve on my choice and won't make a wrong decision. Maverick Audio Tubemagic D1 or Schiit Magni and Modi as entry level setup?
I really like the versatility of the Maverick Tubemagic. Something the M&M doesn't offer is the combination of a pre-amp output and using it as a Headphone amplifier. I like to switch between my loudspeakers or headphones without rewiring. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to a schiit lyr which also...- Phons
