Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9 and ATH-ESW9A Thread
Yes I might have to re-buy a pair of these if they still sell them, I do miss them. I sold mine to buy the ESW10JP which are my go-to portables, when I'm not in the mood to shove my Heirs in my ears! I have great appreciation for the ESW9, just wanted to +1 this thread for that reason! Are...- phkd

Android-fi!
Hi guys, sorry to break up the anime-love-fest, but I have an android question and I figured this was the place to ask it. Can anyone share some opinions of the best Verizon Android phone in the US for sound quality? Do any of them have an analog line-out with a decent DAC that...- phkd

The Grado HF2--It's For Real
I wouldn't go so far as to applaud a negative review, but it is refreshing when you know a reviewer is giving an honest, non-biased opinion devoid of pre-formulated opinions. I still want to hear the HF-2s myself though. And, the recent praise for the HP1000's on this thread has peaked my...- phkd

Hello, I am designing a tube amplifier for headphones and am stuck trying to design a cathode follower. I am not looking for any tips or rules of thumb. The output of my amp is the cathode of a double triode and i used both a resistor network to ground and a 220 uF cap off of the cathode for...- phkd

I want to build a hi-fi tube amp, and I am looking for any type of help.
Hello again, Well I am almost done with the design with my amp. I started it long ago and have been working on it on-and-off. I was hoping to get some specific help from anyone with the time and insight. So my output is going to be a Cathode follower and I want to use an active current source...- phkd

What type of headphones do you recommend for a sound student?
I was going to say, I am also a student doing a lot of sound synth, I use AKG 271 for it, or the sony mdr 7509 if someone is using the 271's. They are my favorite monitor headphones since they are very accurate and neutral.- phkd

If you are buying stock rs-2's they will probably have a button and a black grill. If you apply heat to the button (im thinking hair dryer here) i bet you can soften the glue behind them and remove them. I've never done it though, so I'm not 100% sure on that.- phkd
