Does UE ever discount their customs?

They are priced this way for a couple of reasons. For one it is because they are targeted toward professionals. To them it's a business expense and often a necessity. The other reason is because they are custom made and there is a limit to how many of them they can churn out. It's not like a...

Westone 3 - You asked for it, we listened !

I hear they hired Dr Xin to work on these. Give it another 7 months and you will end up with some kickass headphones.

Which to get? Blingbling vs vampire wire vs mini-cryo

I keep my Ipod connected to my amp with a bling bling either in my jacket pocket or backpack and haven't had any issues with it. I too was originally worried about it's durability, but it's not like it's made out of tissue or something. You would have to really abuse it to snap the wires.

iPod Nano - does it need an amp?

I use an Ipod mini and nano both with a Xin Supermini 4 (ALO bling bling lineout cable) and straight through the headphone jack. My headphones are ES500. I find the sound through the headphone jack to be very good. It's slightly better on the mini, but it's very close. Through the Xin it...

    Superfi 5 Pro Problems

You might want to give it till tommorow. Most IEM's will suffer reduced volume if any moisture gets inside. Since you were using it at the gym there is a good chance this is the culprit.

UM2 vocals piercing... what about ES2?

If you don't like the UM-2 or the E500 you probably won't find anything that you like without an amp. Before you give up hope though, are you using lossless or lame -preset extreme? I've found that most lower quality encodings (anything less than 256VBR) can sound harsh.

Looking for a headphone with soft output

One other thing to consider is the quality of your encodings. If your not listening to at least 256 VBR lame, then I would suggest fixing that first. I had a couple of albums that I had encoded at 192 a bunch of years back and they sounded rather harsh and anoying even through shure e500s. I...

    Soundcard difference?

The music/gamer are essentially the same card, just a different software bundle. The platinum is mostly the same but has pinouts for front console. The fatalities have 64M of onboard ram for reduced CPU bottlenecking when playing games. It also has a joystick port. One version comes with the...
