Almost sounds like for new iDevices using Lightning, any outboard amp would pretty much have to be a DAC now.  Plus there'd have to be some config on the iDevices to output the audio via Lightning so a DAC would work properly.  It would have to work like your Mac/PC when it recognizes a USB DAC...

Yes, the Senns are better.  I took my HF2 pads and soaked them in Woolite.  Made them softer and WAY less itchy.  But the Senns are still softer and more comfortable.

I've noticed a problem w/ my D10 lately.  It's a few years old, out of warranty, BTW.   W/ the volume at zero, I can hear sound out of the right channel, but not the left.  As I turn up the volume, both channels increase in volume but it's obvious that one side is louder than the other.  I...

For portables, I've used an iBasso D10 and an RSA Green Hornet.  Even though the D10 is much more versatile w/ my Macbook, the RSA is hands down much better.   My best match (in my home) w/ the HF2 is the Bottlehead S.E.X.
