I own both the M50 and the DT770's   The M50 will run better than the DT770's volume wise.   When I use the same Ipod, the M50 is much louder than my 770's. Clarity wise, the 770 is a bit clearer and way way way more comfortable. I can wear them for hours.   My M50 is comfortable...

If you check on a review posted on headfi before, there was someone who did a complete review on 770, 880 and 990 with graphs and everything.   990 showed more bass than all 3. (also depends on which kind of headphone in ohmage)

Just know that the bose you are thinking about is not worth all that money. I have heard to headphones half that price that sounded the same.   Look into Audio Technica M50 or Denon D2000.   You should also look into the Shure750dj. This headphone has more bass than the M50 and...

Beats NONE... =)   In all reality, what is the price you are getting them that is considered a good deal?   If you are getting them for $200, even $150, I'd rather buy something else. If you want to get the beats just for fashion, then take a pic. Its all up to you.

An employee has beats, I walked in with mine, he tried mine and wasn't impressed. I listed to his beats, wasn't impressed.   He loves the overpowering bass, thats his opinion. He spends $400 for headphones so he has to force himself to like it, on another hand, I spent way less than him...

Sometimes, people will see how it sounds with what they have.   Dont be mad with how he felt with his Ipod player powering up the headphone. He will work with what he has, and if it didn't sound good enough, he'll have to find something else.
