    Before you return the 1more, try jvc spiral dot tips if you happen to have them.  They fit really well although they will change the sound signature.

      Actually I think the problems you mention are a very compelling reason to at least test them for a short time with the Complys. If the treble isn't shrill with the Complys, you would at least know they aren't defective.

      If you happen to have the RE-400, you might want to try using the Inearpeace tips on them because they noticeably improve bass without losing treble.  For me the difference was being unimpressed with the RE-400, to transforming them into one of my all-time favorites
