Shanling M1: An iPod Nano Competitor / DAP || USB DAC || USB Transport || Bluetooth 4.0 + aptX || DSD
Mmmh I have a weird issue. I upgraded correctly my firmware to 4.4 but now I have a Sennheiser Momentum wireless which won't connect to the M1. Tried to upgrade my firmware to the latest 4.6 but it just reboots and won't upgrade anything. I've tried to get the file from the Google Drive source...- mukumi

Thanks for the feedback. Powerwise I do not have any really demanding headphones when on the go so that wouldn't be an issue. If they are similar soundwise I guess I'll go with the Shanling M1 which is cuter with its small footprint.- mukumi

Mmmh I can't decide between the SHanling M1 and the Cayin N3. Price wise the difference is 20 euros (139 vs 159). Soundwise I've read that the Cayin is better but the M1 might be more fun to listen to. I don't really care about the BT stuff. I just want something better than my Sony NWZ-A15 but...- mukumi

Creative Sound blaster E5 - Headphone amp + USB DAC with OTG + Toslink + aptX + recording + more.
Hey guys, just found this topic where you might better help me... I'll copy paste my message from the DT990 thread: I received my DT990 pro 250 ohm yesterday. I'm using it with a Sound Blaster E5 as a dac. That dac/amp got a switch "low gain / high gain" which supposedly should be used based on...- mukumi

DT990 Pro Impressions Thread
I'm using it as a DAC (so no line in). So the volume knob adapts the volume of the PC and not only of the amp. I guess that I'll indeed use the low gain setting. Just scared of losing some bass due to the lowest impedance provided. But that's really weird, maybe Creative didn't implement...- mukumi

DT990 Pro Impressions Thread
Hello everyone, I received my DT990 pro 250 ohm yesterday. I'm using it with a Sound Blaster E5. That dac/amp got a switch "low gain / high gain" which supposedly should be used based on the impedance. The low one is for 0-120 ohm headphones while the high one is for 120-600 ohm. My issue is...- mukumi

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Yo, small feedback concerning the dt990. Just listened to some tracks so this is not a definitive opinion. I really like them, they are quiet comfortable and this is the signature that i was looking for. Didn't test in any game yet so I won't say anything about gaming . As for the trebles I do...- mukumi

Well I found those graphs from a website that I trust and DT990 and X1 seems to share the same kind of signature: X1: DT990: Sources: http://www.lesnumeriques.com/casque-audio/philips-fidelio-x1-p14348/test.html (in French sorry) and...- mukumi

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Well since I intend to use the headphones for gaming only (and not competitive, i'm speaking about AAA titles such as Tomb Raider or The Division or whatever will be out) I would want to have a decent amount of bass. The Fidelio X2 is 100€ above the DT990 and 80€ above the HD598. So from now on...- mukumi

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Damn... Still can't decide. I've looked into this the whole weekend and there is at least one issue for each of the models I've selected. HD598: apparently there is almost no bass? DT990: apparently the trebles are really tiresome. DT880: apparently it has issues with virtual headphones...- mukumi
