    FiiO K9 Pro Hi-Fi DeskDop DAC&Bluetooth&Amplifier,XLR/RCA/4.4/Optical/Coaxial interface

Hi, I've tried various USB c cables and the problem persists, and the OTG is always on in my phone. I have many other USB DACs which connect to my phone without problems, so I think it may a problem with the K9 pro.

    FiiO K9 Pro Hi-Fi DeskDop DAC&Bluetooth&Amplifier,XLR/RCA/4.4/Optical/Coaxial interface

@FiiO Willson I recently purchased the K9 Pro and I'm really enjoying it, however using the USB C input at the side has been really frustrating as it keeps disconnecting from my android phone. I have to keep switching the K9 Pro off and then on again in order to connect to the phone again. Is...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)

Shame, as your missing out on a great pair of cans. Try giving the SR9s a good burn-in session and then make an evaluation. I noticed a significant difference before and after burn-in. I've tried lots of other equipment on them eg. Monolith portable DAC amp, THX amps, Helm Bolt etc etc, and...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)

Fully agree with you about the synergy, there ain't any between the SR9 and W2 for sure. The Hip DAC, on the other hand, sings with the SR9s - better than many more expensive DAC headphone amp combinations I've tried with them. As for the SR9 itself, it has had some mixed reviews - some, like...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)

Here's another frequency graph but from DIY Audio Heaven: A little different, no? But to revise my earlier statement about the SR9s being "neutral sounding", I confirm that (after extensive burn-in) SR9s are just a little brighter in treble than your average headphone but that just aids...

    iFi Hip-DAC Impressions Thread

    1. It may be a software issue with the XA2 phone. I recommend getting the USB Audio Pro app which tends to sort out problems with native android audio drivers. Also, do you have the same volume problem when the Hip DAC is connected to a PC? 2. Have you engaged the power match button (on the far...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)

I have Audio Technica ATH-SR9s which are neutral-sounding, easy to drive and fairly revealing headphones, and Shure Aonic 4s which are well-balanced IEMs with good imaging and soundstaging abilities. Also, what's with those EQ presets on the W2? They're really quite crude. The Bass one...

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)

I'm a believer in burn-in, so I gave the W2 every chance to impress me by giving it 35 hours of burn-in before I came to any serious judgments. I also listened to a wide variety of music and every time I was pretty much disappointed. I bought the ifi hip DAC to replace the W2 - and what a...

I had the W2 for a week (and quickly sold it) and I was very underwhelmed by it. To me, it sounded quite thin, insipid and antiseptic and also, it didn't have as much real driving power as I was expecting. This is one of those audio devices that measures well but doesn't actually 'listen...

Cayin N5ii Android based Master Quality Digital Audio Player

I've had the N5iiS for a few days now - coming from an iBasso DX80 - and I'm very impressed with this player. On first listen, it sounds good to very good but slightly rough around the edges. But after just 18 hours of burn-in it's starting to sound superb: great dynamics, excellent clarity and...

Reply to review by 'mr vicarious' on item 'Flare Audio R1 Headphones'

@Takeanidea Sorry to be boring, but the Sennheiser HD600 are still my favourite. Although having said that, I recently had the Hifiman HE400S and was very impressed with them. The only reason why I didn't keep them was that although initially very comfortable, the ear pads irritated my skin and...

Review by 'Mr Vicarious' on item 'Flare Audio R1 Headphones'

I bought these (at £150) expecting much but was shocked by how far they fell short of even competency. They are very uncomfortable, badly designed and the sound is really nothing special. Whatever I did I couldn't get them to sit flush on my ears so that only the top third of each ear cup...
