If you were to assemble a cost-no-object portable system...
I'd request a 16gb Sansa Clip with a Mirco SD card slot, the clip would have an alloy body with matt black finish. The front face would be made of scratch resistant material with a little else changed. I'd add support for gapless play back and stuff a 16gb car into the slot. As for IEM's I'd...- MPorts

need help
I'd 2nd sugguestion of either the Sansa Fuse or Clip - IMO my Clip actually sounds better than my Sony A806, Sony A816 or iPod classic. It's become my player of choice for the time being as it's cheap, sounds great (with decent headphones) and fairly well built.- MPorts

16gb Sony S639 or 16gb i7???
Sweet, you won't regret the purchase, which color did you go for? Whilst the black version looks great, I find myself being drawn towards the silver version. I already have a A806, A816 and having listened to the S639 at my local Sony Centre, I'm planning to add the S639 to the collection...- MPorts

iTunes Alternative
My personal preference for players would have to be Sony, I love my old A806 & A816 with my Cowon D2 following close behind. As for software I tend to rip all my CD's as MP3's using Exact Audio Copy and Lame (VBR, V0 ~ 230 kbps, personally I reckon most people wouldn't be able distinguish...- MPorts

Audio Technica's ATH-EM9r
Hi All, Does anyone have experience with Audio Technica's ATH-EM9r? What do they sound like, any good? How large are they (anyone care to post a photo of them on ear?) Whats the build quality like? Is the cable 'light weight' and likely to tangle? Should I buy or avoid !- MPorts

Pictures of Your Portable Rig [Part XI]
512mb 1st gen Nano with extended battery pack, 1gb 2nd Gen Nano, a 4gb Cowon D2 (with gold 'Pattern B' sticker set) and my faithful PX100's - I have a pair of Sleek Audio SA6's on the way to me. Cheap, cheerful and mine ! Word of warning, if attach a Cowon sticker set to your D2; don't...- MPorts

Best stock sound quality - Sony A7/800 series or Cowon D2?
As a new Cowon D2 owner it'll surprise you that I'm giving the Sony my vote!! However I found that my old A806 hissed hell of a lot less than the A826 I recently returned. Don't get me wrong I still like the D2, I just reckon my old A806 was better built and sounded a lot better.- MPorts

What should I get instead of an iPod Touch?
The D2 is sounds great with the right IEM's - But its menu / navigation is a total pain in the arse to use in comparison to the Touch. You can however play around with differing themes etc - See: Finished Themes Only - No Other Posts - iAudiophile.net Forums In defence of the D2, the...- MPorts

What should I get instead of an iPod Touch?
I've owned a Apple Touch (8gb) a Apple Classic (80gb), a Sony A826 and now a Cowon D2 within the last 12 months. The Touch was my favourite of the bunch, nice sounding, well built & technically superior to just about everything else on the market (except the iPhone of course). The iPod...- MPorts

audiophile quality albums
Foo Fighters - Skin & Bones (live album) Does it for me, full of surprises - The acoustic version of My Hero is excellent as is most of album, however you'll need to listen to it a couple of times before it grows on you. -
What IEM's or headphones are you using with your Cowon D2?
Hi All, I recently purchased a Cowon D2, which I'm using with my Senn PX-100's. I'm looking for something better and was wondering what you were all using? My max budget is approx £100 - I'm not using a portable amp, something comfortable to wear (unlike my e2c's). I had considered a...- MPorts
