Nic, great to hear that there's going to be a second shootout forthcoming! Just a suggestion - since it's likely there won't be as many models to shootout this time round, I suggest also including comparisons to models from the first shootout, for those with very similar sound signatures.

Aww, that's just too bad, I was hoping it would make a deeper run further up the list. Then again, it's already quite admirable given that the majority of the IEMs ranking above it are substantially more expensive. (except of course that Warbler, which I must try some day) I still do remember...

I double checked the predictions thread, and there are only 3 possible unique combinations of the top 5 that do not have one of the eliminated IEMs. A18, Zeus and W900 all appear in these 3 predictions, so by deduction they should be in Flinkenick's top 5.

Thanks for the review! I do think you should keep Samba in the shootout given that people made their ratings with Samba in mind. Maybe further down the road consider adding the Flamenco at the end of the shootout.   Just a question - hypothetically, if you were to replace Samba with Flamenco...

Haha, fair enough then. Although the vast majority of CIEMs out there (which are definitely darker than the Samba) must seem like basshead cans in comparison to the 6R :P

The Samba's definitely one of the brightest flagship-level IEMs out there in the market today. The bass is a very slight touch north of neutral but to my ears I think its actually brighter than my HD800, although I haven't had a chance for direct comparison yet.   Of course it's still darker...
