Recommendations for Best headphones on the market (new and old)

Alessandro MS-2s Punchy like the Grado 125/225s, but cleaner. Definately some rock cans (Fast, Good Bass) but classical does have a more lively tone to it. Pads make a very big difference in the overall equilization (and of course comfort). Worth every penny *grin*.

    New iPods

Is it possible to get a 4G 20Gb iPod and an 80Gb hard drive from a notebook seperately. It would probably cost ~$500 total, or ~$450 for a 60Gb one...

    time to choose a DAP

How big is the discount? If its around $250 with tax and everything for a 20 gig, or around $325 for a 40Gig, that seems much more reasonable (ill be in college in 6 months...)

    Receiver vs. Headphone Amp

I have a denon 2803s (same as 2803 just silver) surround sound receiver that I use at home. It cost me around $550-600. How much would I have to spend on a headphone amp that I would hook up directly from my sony DVP to notice a difference?? If all i did was listen to headphones and occasionally...

    Xclef now 100GB

Has anyone here used one of these? This looks like exactly what I'm looking for. An inexpensive alternative to the iPod with much higher capacity potential. Can it read ogg lossless?

    DISCUSSION : Optical Vinyl ???

I saw a turntable that used no needle - it slid out like a computer cd player, or laserdisk, and looked like a laserdisc - it claimed a much longer life for all your plastik because it never made physical contact. (Theoretically sounding the same every time). It costed around $3000 USD but i...

do you play lossless or lossy on your dap?

This is the main reason I havent bought an iPod yet - I only have about 100 cds that I really listen to on a daily basis. I figured with apple's lossless codec I would need about 27Gb (assuming 50 minute cds and about half size compression) just to store my current cds. I want the iPod to last a...

    CD sounds better tan Vinyl!

Bah! I need to listen to a quality vinyl setup from all the praises here it seems better when invested in. Im on long island anyone want to invite me over to convert me to analog? I think the best quality sound is when you plug a live soundboard directly into your brain, but the surgery is...

    Hmmm, 39$ digital HIGH-END amp....!?!?

Looks very interesting - would love to see some head-fiers do thier thang on it. Im a bit broke now but this vs. a cMoy would seem like a fair category to put it in (well a cmoy is a lot smaller, but this im can probably be considered transportable if not portable).

    anyone prefer grado over senn

Grado will grow in popularity by word of mouth, not by advertising. Thier business practices so far have been successful (in my eyes and ears ) so why change it? Senn is also an extremely successful business so why should they change thier practices either. Two distinct companies that make...

    Coming back to the DARKSIDE.

<--- Loving the MS-2s It has its downs (comfort isnt bad but it is noticable after a bit), but its ups highly outweigh them.

Looking for a budget CDP for use with MS-1's

He was talking to me i misread. In the case of regular cdp, I got a great deal off eBay - the Sony DVP-NS715P for $70. Its a DVD player but has excellent sound (not to mention a great picture). If you really just want a CDP then the above posters have more experience than me in dedicated CDP...
