Philips Fidelio X2?!
Has anyone been able to take these apart? Completely? I want to give it a full spring clean, especially the 3D mesh headband section.- MetroBBOY

HeadAmp/DAC > Onboard PC to AVR
Re the Xonar, I'm nervous that the drivers are outdated. Running Windows 10 Pro. That's my concern with internal sound cards essentially.- MetroBBOY

HeadAmp/DAC > Onboard PC to AVR
Thanks a bunch mate. Informative for sure. I'm tossing up the idea of a Schiit Magni 2 Uber as an amp and hook it via pre out to the Yamaha RCA. Would I still get DDL if I get the Magni + get the Xonar DX? So PC - Xonar - Yamaha - Magni - X2- MetroBBOY

HeadAmp/DAC > Onboard PC to AVR
I picked up a Fidelio X2, it's a fantastic headphone and is a very musical can! I have a gaming PC running onboard Realtek 1150, which is quite good, however I have now added a Yamaha V675 AVR via optical to also hook up speakers to the PC. In Pure Direct mode, meaning unfiltered, the Fidelio...- MetroBBOY

Yes, please do not use these in the gym! I crushed a pair of cheap $49 Sony IEMs a while ago. You just don't know what will happen...- MetroBBOY

I'm actually comparing then to the UE900, which a mate has and the fact I wanted to buy them originally. IE80 any day. UE900 has great detail, but mids are a little too forward for me. Overall bass is too anaemic for me too. IE80 is just more engaging IMO.- MetroBBOY

I bought the Nano 7G last night, and hooked it up to my IE80. I'm confident that the music capability is slightly better than the iPhone 5. I'll do some A/Bing later on, but seems that the IE80 just got about 10% better now.- MetroBBOY

That's awesome. Well I'm not really a big advocate of spending $$$ on cables, but I'll give sunricky's cables a go. I like the look of the braided cables and colour, so even if I don't notice any sonic difference, at least they'll look nice.- MetroBBOY

I have a mate that owns the UE900, and I managed to score one of the grey silicone tips which are similar to the JVC tips. The UE tip only require a tiny stretch, but I must say they do sound pretty clear to me. This will definitely suffice until the JVC comes in- MetroBBOY

Using the same plug as depicted? He's revised the pin adaptor end. You noticed good sound nonetheless?- MetroBBOY

What do ya'll think of this cable upgrade? Its cheap enough for me to give it a go. Silver plated, so not pure, but I'm going for both looks and function at that price. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261154242739?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649- MetroBBOY

I might end up buying some that's for sure. Comfort would be amazing, but yeah I'm interested to know how sound would be affected as you mentioned. It should at least buy me time until the JVC's come in. Bottom line, is that these are a keeper for sure. Sound was amazing when I used those...- MetroBBOY

I just tried the Sony hybrid tips. No good. They let me try one but felt like I was gonna snap the bores. Argh! Waiting 2 weeks for the JVC tips to come in will be interesting...- MetroBBOY
