Spectrum Watchers - Are there more of you out there? What's your favorite song to 'watch'?

Used enjoy watching the whole of Depeche Mode's Violator while listening....and the level meters on my old Denon Tape Deck used to pulse quite hypnotically to the same album...aaah Geek moment..

Any old fart head-fi'ers still around?

Not sure if I am a mid fart or an old fart...and will hit 40 in July. Not been in here for ages and so nice to see this thread and some names I used to follow (did not post enough to become well known myself). Guess I went to into listening mode rather than worrying about the gear quite so much.

Anyone have advice about computer video cards?

Try 1280x960 or even 1600x1200 although the former may be better for a 19" plus check 'cleartype' setting as already mentioned.

Mac Users: XLD is now a CD Ripper w/ AccurateRip support.

A nice feature comparison for XLD versus Max: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3112/...8baa6424_o.jpg I have switched to XLD for now and use MAX backup. I still like MAX as each have coped with some 'difficult' disks the other has struggled with (not only damaged disks). Furthermore, I do...

    Need help from Mac users.

Just thought I would update the thread to include notification of XLD and the fact it can now rip securely as per EAC. I would still keep MAX as another option though as each has managed to rip 'difficult' discs where the other has not succeeded 100% or where XLD gets bogged down in trying to go...

    Unbelievable F1 Season End (2008)

Hamilton has reminded the F1 circus what racing is all about and has made this season entertaining to the end. I do hope that the regulation changes still allow enough innovation to keep F1 the 'First Formula'. I also hope that Raikkonen 'wakes up' next season and that another team rises to...
