Daft Punk Hostility
Daft Punk are legendary. Their ideas and execution are top notch. It is sad to see them compared with the likes of new wave electro-trash. They are an inspiration to many, and are always ahead of the curve. Kings of electronic music. -
PC Power Supply Question
+1 on the Corsair. After using a few other brands, some of them failing on me or just getting weird, I've stuck with Corsair and they are rock-solid.- Logos

The Jeans-fi thread
M3NTAL, The 514 is most like the Nudie "Slim Jim", it is slightly tapered, but has that straight tube leg. The APC New Standard is a sort of update of the 501, except a bit tighter, but the sizes run big. They are way more flattering than a 501, and although not tapered, still fit and wear...- Logos

The Jeans-fi thread
Definitely A.P.C. New Standard's, Petite Standard's, Nudie Slim Jim's, Levis 510 or 514 for less forgiving situations. Would like to try some Naked & Famous, or Oni's sometime soon.- Logos

Edmonton/Alberta Meet MARCH 14th - The Gramophone
Just found out about this. Would love to come. I'll bring my HD-650's w/ my DIY Blue Dragon headphone cable. Would have brought my starving student but it needs some repairs and I wouldn't want to damage anyone's phones.- Logos

Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp
Firstly, thanks to Tom for the really great work that went into this kit. It showed down to the immaculate packaging! *Edit* Seem to have found a solution to my problem, was a mistake in the crimping of one of the fast-on connectors. Back to This amp is super awesome and seems to provide...- Logos

Working with lethal voltages?
Keep the great responses coming, guys. Regal: Do you mean to imply that, even if unplugged for days, you would still recommend testing with a DMM before touching? This can be really hard to do with one hand behind your back. Some people have recommended alligator clips to use with only one...- Logos

You've got the right idea. Just hook up the RCA outs of the essence to the RCA unbalanced in of the monitors.- Logos

I need some self powered speakers..
The KRK Rokit/VXT line is all designed for nearfield. The speakers that he was talking about do have a 5" woofer (KRK RP5), and are designed for desktop use, and to be paired with the matching KRK 10s subwoofer. If he is looking for a desktop computer speaker replacement, that is still what I...- Logos

From what I gather, that $700-750 you are seemingly stretching your budget on could be better spent by going active. If you find a pair of the wharfedale's used, you are still powering them with a used $200 receiver/amp and creating more costs with shipping for your subwoofer parts. What you are...- Logos

HELP me find some krk rokit 5's in canada for as cheap as possible?
There is no "RCA out" just XLR, RCA and 1/4" TRS inputs. Long & McQuade sell midway decent cables themselves. You could probably hack an RCA cable to work like you mentioned. Probably better to get some decent cables for them though, and go XLR if you can.- Logos

Oh, forgot to mention. Often times Long & McQuade will give you a discount on their open box products. Their "demo room" is full of open box monitors in every price range. Last I was there, they had an open pair of rokit 5's, if you ask nicely, they will probably give you a good deal on the open...- Logos

You need to do more research on your own, man. Regardless, here is a freebie: Both Long & McQuade as well as Axe Music carry those at $195 a peice. If you need to find them cheaper, check eBay or cross your fingers for some used ones to pop up somewhere. They are so heavy that shipping would...- Logos
