SanDisk Clip+ VS Clip Zip VS Fuze+? Need help choosing
A lot of people have complained about the Fuze+ having poor controls, but that it's better with Rockbox. Otherwise AFAIK they're all the same in terms of sound quality.- lidavidm

Nexus 4 or samsung galaxy s3, which one has a better DAC
They both use Qualcomm chips with the same DAC, I believe. I have the S3, and as far as I can tell it's decent. At low volume I can hear noise and hiss through my Superlux HD668B, but maybe that's a consequence of me using CyanogenMod. The volume gets quite loud (in fact even the lowest volume...- lidavidm

New LG Nexus 4 phone -- sound quality?
FauxSound lets you adjust the headphone and speaker gain if you have a compatible kernel, nothing more. You actually don't need the app, you can set the kernel parameters manually if you know where to look.- lidavidm

Sound Quality: iPad 4 or Nexus 10 ?
I'd say both are quite good. The Nexus has a Wolfson DAC, which is well regarded; I think the bigger factor should be whether you prefer iOS or Android. (The Nexus 7 has a Realtek DAC and is known to be quite poor - the Nexus 10 is much better) See...- lidavidm

How can I reduce noise from a source?
Yeah, I looked for higher impedance headphones but in terms of IEMs I can't find anything in my budget. The Brainwavz M1 have 32 ohms, would that be enough? Also, could you point me to an example of such a divider? I looked on Google but what comes up doesn't seem to be related to audio...- lidavidm

How can I reduce noise from a source?
Thanks for the link - unfortunately CyanogenMod doesn't support USB DACs, but that thread links to the possibility of it working... I'll keep researching that. Yes - I've been considering the Clip. I simply like the interface of my phone better. But that is the option I will most likely be...- lidavidm

How can I reduce noise from a source?
My dilemma is that I have a U.S. Galaxy S III, and I don't know if this is a defect or not, but it produces a lot of background noise at low volume (the only volume level where it's even remotely comfortable to listen to, the GS3 is a really loud source!). The problem isn't always present - I...- lidavidm

How do I deal with the HORRIBLE volume control in Android?
I actually am in the exact same situation as you are, and I've been looking around as well. http://www.head-fi.org/t/575409/can-a-portable-amp-work-as-an-inline-volume-control-to-reduce-volume says the Fiio E6/some other amp can be used as a decent volume control - it is another thing to...- lidavidm
