What is a "non-IEM" earbud? Do you mean non-custom? I've had several pairs of non-custom IEMs with phone controls from Ultimate Ears, although now they're probably sold under Logitech label.

I think many Ultimate Ears models can be purchased with the in-line mic and controls. When I had my CIEMs made, I bought the cord from UE and had it incorporated into the build.

Well, I kind of did. When I sent my headset back for a replacement earpiece, I had them upgraded from triple armatures to quads for a little more low-end punch. I got a call yesterday that they are being shipped back to me. I also went with a darker faceplate.
