I think any bass heavy genre will break them in just fine. Maybe a dub step pandora station?- kunuggs

Ambient/Drone
Are you on Spotify? I have a public playlist called "Minimal/Ambient/Drone" that you can subscribe to. It currently has 636 tracks and over 2 days of songs. Also, it already has all 3 artists mentioned and then some. -
The Midrangehead Club
I never really thought of myself as a "midrangehead" but I own 3 phones and they are all on the list: Koss KSC-75 Meelectronics a151 AKG K501 Love them all. They all have different purposes and excel within their intended application. Also, I love the fact that, brand new including...- kunuggs

E10, new USB DAC ( updated with photos of real E10 )
The nuforce has rca outputs. The fiio has a 3.5mm stereo jack. They can be used for the same thing. You would just use different cables for each one. Both are usb dacs with headphone amps built in. I can't speak to the quality of one vs the other, as I've heard neither. -
Winamp now also for the Mac
I have had windows computers my whole life and used winamp from 1997 until about 6 months ago when I switched to an Apple laptop. At that time, I had a bunch of FLAC files. I just converted those into ALAC so that I could use iTunes. I was really excited when I heard about this mac release. I...- kunuggs

How many jazz albums are in your music library?
I just counted 601. That's between Vinyl/CD/SACD/Mp3/FLAC. That's actually a lot less than I thought. It seems like I have a lot, but I guess not. The thing I love about jazz is: most of my music is by people who we have all heard of (Coltane, Davis, Monk, Adderley, Weather Report, Brown... -
Jam Band Newbie needs neutral advice
Very true. Jam band fans are quite elitist and very polarized in opinion. Just like gratefulshrink, I say start with early Dead (LOTS of material to sift through) and work your way from there. The term "Jam Band" is kind of like "Jazz", in that, just saying "I like jam band music" doesn't really... -

i have an amp.. now i need a decent set of bookshelf speakers!
I own Acculine A2's, which use a planar magnetic tweeter in a MTM arrangement. They are 350 a pair. The acculine A1's are the same thing except it's a MT arrangement. They are 250 a pair. Go to theaudioinsider.com to check out specs. I think they sound phenomenal for the price I paid. -

Blue Jeans Cable
Ditto. They made both my optical and my speaker cables. Both are good quality cables. Although, I have to say that my speaker cable (14 ga) is VERY unflexible as well. -

Head-Fi 2007 Christmas Gift Exchange Whadjaget? Thread
I exchanged gifts with utarch00. He gave me 2 CD's. One is Zero 7's Simple Things. The other is Puscifer's "V" Is For Vagina. I was familiar with Zero 7 through the song they had in the Garden State soundtrack. So far, I am very much enjoying the rest of their music as well!! Puscifer is quite...- kunuggs
