I agree.   It looks sturdier, but there is microphonics.

The store told me (on the phone so they haven't seen the cable) that it will be considered as a physical damage so the warranty does not apply. Fortunately a person from Westone contacted me and offered help. Hopefully I will get the replacement. I'll report back.

I've got FiiO-RC-WT2-Replacement Cable which is half the price of Westone's, but it's not as comfortable (especially it's a bit stiff) and the sound of my W30 loses some subtleties with it.

I will try to do it and will see if it will get replaced. If so, it would keep up my hope and maybe I'll stay with Westone. My other models (2 pairs of W3) didn't have detachable cables, but I don't care so much about them now as long as I have my lastest W30 fixed. Soon I will report back if...
