I have a pair of K702 and love the mids. It slightly over your budget though, but definitely worth considering.

IE8 will deliver an amazing bass when listening to rock and rap. I normally skip the amp for IEMs.

I have a pair of IE8 and like the bass.

Seems to be easier to drive and sounds just as good. Looking forward for a chance for audition.

Have you tried "Spectro"? It works for mp3 and flac.

I always use FLAC on my old irive-H120 and very happy with the results.

I have a pair of Audio-Technica ANC7, and other low impedance earphone like PX 200 and Shure E3c. I'm considering getting either 600 or 650. Primary source is CD I would say. But if the amps with a USB give good performance, why not enjoy the convenience of mp3.
