    Samsung's new IEM's

Quote:   Quote:   Why?  Samsung is one of the largest consumer electronics companies in the world, and I can't even imagine what their yearly R&D budget is ... wouldn't be unexpected at all to me if they put out some quite decent IEMs.

    Samsung's new IEM's

I have the EHS63 and am testing them now --- so far they are not half bad.  Some issues with fit and comfort, and the cable microphonics are sub-par, but sound quality is pretty decent.  Haven't tested in the inline mic yet.  Will be writing up a full review in the next week or so.

Shootout: 114 Portable Headphones Reviewed (Xiaomi Mi Headphones added 04/21/2015)

Quote: Whew, those PIIQ PQ2 are some of the fugliest portables I have ever seen.  They look like a bad set of sofa cushions from the 1970s!   (p.s. in the last sentence in the review it looks like an 'o' is missing in 'Coloud')   The Philips Stretch, on the other hand, looks...

SP-100 Sound Pressure Level Meter for earphones and iems!!

Just finished my review of the SPL-100.  I must say that I was impressed by it.  Been quite a long since I've reviewed a product that was so useful.  My biggest complaint is that you can't find it anywhere readily available for sale!

Help my dad pick jogging IEMs

MEElec M6 worked great for me while jogging, and are now available for less than $30.  They may not be the best choice for classical, though.  Not sure how many recommendations you'll be able to get for a jogging IEM that is used primarily for classical music.   I now use the Sennheiser...

A plea to the community--let's standardize the way we describe sonic signatures

Quote: So you are saying that when someone describes sound they completely forgoe using descriptive terms like bass, treble, etc.?

A plea to the community--let's standardize the way we describe sonic signatures

Interesting post, but I really struggle to understand how you are proposing this would actually be accomplished.  There is no "Audio governing body" that defines each and every audio term in precise detail.  What we have today are generally understood (but often mis-used) terms like bass, mids...

Review: Munitio Teknine SITi 9mm – Locked & Loaded

Quite a review, nice job with it (even if it was a bit lengthy for my taste. :-) )   I remember being interested in these when they first came out, but couldn't get ahold of a pair and so I completely forgot about them until seeing this review.  Your review certainly makes them sound...

Anyone try the Phiaton PS 20 yet?

As usual, joker is spot on.  Although I've never really been sold on the idea of a half-in ear design, the PS20 sure does a lot right for it's $99 retail price. Full review is at http://www.topreviewshop.com/phiaton_ps20_earphones

New releases from Meelec: HT-21 Portables, CC51 Ceramic IEMs, A151 Armatures

Looks like Meelec is going to be busy in 2011 releasing lots of new models.  Can't say that I am surprised given how much they are discounting their current models!   HT-21 is still the most interesting to me, since it's their first portable set.  Cheers on the nice review of it, joker.

Looking for a speaker dock system

How portable are you looking for?  If you aren't too concerned about portability, and you're willing to spend $200-$300, the Audioengine A5 would be my recommendation.  In sound quality, it easily trumps the smaller iPod speaker docks that I have tested.  Requires AC power and is not portable...
