ZMF x Vibro & ZMF Blackwood Discussion Thread.
I will add that the Blackwood has emphasized sub-bass. Zach is pretty clear on this. The mid-bass is very linear, which is what I believe most people normally associate with "slam." Sub-bass heavy songs kill on the Blackwood though!- JRoMan

The PA2V2 Thread
I've got HD25-1 II and a PA2V2, but don't think I actually have ever listened to them as a combo! I bet they would make the HD25 (any version) a bit more laid back. If I can get around to it, I will test it out and report back. edit: did a brief A/B test with HD25 and PA2V2 vs. JDS Labs c421...- JRoMan

ZMF x Vibro & ZMF Blackwood Discussion Thread.
I've heard great things about the Cayin C5. It should be able to drive the xVibro fine. I have a JDS C421 that does fine pushing my Blackwoods, even on low gain. Otherwise, I have a Magni 1 that I keep at my desk at work, and just added a Modi 2 (non-uber) this week :) To be honest, I...- JRoMan

Can those of us with the Canare cable purchase the current version cable? You don't have it listed on the site. I imagine it would cost less than the Litz...?- JRoMan

I did that, too, but I think I nicked the cup on one of the screws when I pushed it up on the slider :(- JRoMan

hd25-1 impressions thread
It's been said in this thread before, but it's worth saying again... The "uber" mod is well worth the minimal cost and effort (I omitted the part where you actually touch the driver), and I felt it noticeably improved bass response. I also upgraded to the Alu pads and feel it's a worthwhile...- JRoMan

ZMF x Vibro & ZMF Blackwood Discussion Thread.
I just received the cowhide pads from Zach this week and installed them in place of the lamb skin pads on my Blackwood. I made the mistake of not taking the cups off the sliders, but I managed to get the pads on within about 10-15 minutes. I'm sure a video would be helpful but not totally...- JRoMan

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
The more I listen to the Vali the less useful it seems to me, especially having other amps that can drive HD600 fine (like Magni).- JRoMan

Nice. I was just thinking about taking some pics of my Purplehearts, too. In some lighting in my house they look brown. So weird.- JRoMan
