Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I have the Hipdac with Xbass switch but i found it too much of a boost. I'm happy with APO with +1.5db 100hz low shelf and a +2db 28hz peak boost...

iFi audio's worst kept secret: the hip-dac!

installed 5.20 and it definitely sounds more "natural" without the digitalness.. can't quite put it in words but yea natural come to mind.. don't miss the purple MQA at all... actually playing Tidal MQA tracks i still see from the iFi control panel that it is decoding at high sample rates even...

iFi audio's worst kept secret: the hip-dac!

Do you think the 5.2 sound is worth it over the lost of MQA functions? I haven't spend much time with the firmwares but i can't tell HIFI and Masters sound other than the color purple... Some well recorded HIFI tracks sounds great.. and some poorly recorded MQA soundtracks sounds bad soooo

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

Are the anandas worth the upgrade if we already have the sundaras? Or should we try something else like the gl2000?

    Hifiman Ananda

Hi guys, i have the hipdac and sundara combo and like the sound very much. What i found is just the slight lack of bass. (sometimes i use the bass boost but mostly i rather dont, most of my songs are ok.) Is the Ananda a better upgrade? I am asking because my gf likes my rig, so i'm planning...

    BRT5 or ifi hip DAC

i got the hipdac with my sundara.. also planning for a portable around the house setup for my pc and phone... I think the hipdac has more power than the BRT5 and that alone should be worth it.. I like the sound very much and considering a idsd signature for even more power.. i'm just worried the...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

actually not a lot if not any.. i tried one side without the filter one with and listen to songs mono and normally and cant really tell the difference.. After both filter is gone, i "hear" more separation and layering.. like the sound has been opened.. But then again it could just be placebo and...

Wonder how do they compare to HFM Anandas and with a hipdac or something lower powered than a desktop setup... Am using sundaras with hipdac and got this on my radars... Thanks for your impressions in advance!

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

Take off the pads, unscrew all the screws, then slightly push the drivers from below... the whole assembly should come out, then you can remove the liner which is sandwiched between the grill via magnets.. quite easy but sound improvements are very minimal, either way i like how it looks..
