    I need some Satchmo please

Another record from  the LP era, Ambassador Satch (European Concert Recordings) Mono. This is on Columbia and my copy is an early 6 eye pressing. Good full standing image of Armstrong in formal clothing with suit case in one  hand  and his horn tucked under his arm. Has some early standards...

What are your best sources for discovering new music?

What an eye opening thread! Really don't  have anything to add that hasn't already been mentioned. Looks like I'll have hours of pleasurable searching in the near future.  Thanks

Do you often enjoy listening to new or old music more?

I been trying to hear music that's new to me. The musicians may have been around for a few years but don't seem to be very well known. I check out sites on You Tube to find this type music. I find places like Musicfog is good for Folk, Folk-Rock. I have spent a lot of time with NPR Radio's Tiny...

Looking for a new dac ($400-$600)

I'm having the same problem trying to decide on a new DAC. I've looked at the ads for Halide Design DAC HD which is slated to be released this month. Its a 24 bit 96 khz design. Its old name is Devilsound USB DAC and has gotten good reviews for the most part. I believe its made here in America...

Found some NOS tubes, need advice

Tomy Thong has given you a good breakdown on the differences in the three 12ax7 family of tubes. Still, you would need to listen to the different tubes in a particular circuit to tell which one you may like the best. Sometimes the speakers will like one particular tube best. I bought some used...

Bob Dylan or Neil Young (Cast Your Vote)

I listen to both singer/ songwriters. Seems I like Neil's voice best but I sure like Dylan's song writing skills. Dylan is still writing songs even at a fairly old age which is a plus for him.

The Beatles or Pink Floyd.....Cast your vote

Pink Floyd or the Beatles: I suppose it has a lot to do with my mood. Like others, I tend to be in the mood for the Beatles most often. That's strange as I have more albums by Pink Floyd than the Beatles. Maybe I just like Pink Floyd's album jacket art better.

Minimalistic piano or violin driven music.

Check out a  musician named Elliot Carter. I like his Clarinet Concerto, Part 1 and 2. He may be still alive and working but I think of his period is the 1940's and 50's. Also a current quartet, by the name of Mosquito Creek, Improvisation # 1. I like to use You Tube to research new music then...
