NAD M51 Direct Digital DAC Impressions
Late to this party but have had my M51 for a couple 3 months now and it is the most detail resolving dac I have owned or heard. I owned Mark Levinson 360S dac for many years. The M51 beats it handily as far as detail retrieval and it bests the Marantz SA11S2 as well in that regard. The...- jimmyjames8

Difference between NuForce Icon Mobile and nuforce uDAC?
Icon is a great little dac/amp. Kicks the crap out of the BitHead I had some years ago. Maybe improved, different rev by now. Icon can only be charged via USB. Has USB in and 1/8" line in. Line in can be headphone out from MP3 player or line out from MP3 player. Icon has 2 headphone outs. ...- jimmyjames8

knife-fi?
I like my ZT350 CB just fine. It has normal G10 scales like a spyderco military. If it was a little longer it would be perfect.- jimmyjames8

Why is it that even digitized vinyl sounds so good?
I feel sorry for these young folks that did not get their brain wrinkles from vinyl and am radio.- jimmyjames8

If you had $5000 to spend on a DAC what would you buy?
USB only input is deal breaker for me on the Ayre.- jimmyjames8

knife-fi?
The emerson waves I have handled were either so loose that it felt like the blade would fall out or were too spendy to even consider. Check out Zero Tolerance knives by Kershaw.- jimmyjames8

Why is it that even digitized vinyl sounds so good?
"Why is it that even digitized vinyl sounds so good?" possibly because you grew up listening to vinyl and your brain/auditory system was programmed/imprinted with that sound. I know mine was. My vinyl rips to an HHb deck sound GREAT to my biased ears.- jimmyjames8

Recommendations for a good used CD player, $2-$3K budget
Best sounding head rig player I have ever heard is the Marantz Ki Pearl. The Pearl has a special headphone synergy to it. Produces the best bass depth and slam in headphones. Best sounding cd/sacd player I have ever heard is the Marantz SA11S2. These are in the $2K-$3K range used to new.- jimmyjames8

The Grado HF-2 Review/Comparison Thread
My HF2 sounds nothing like the MS2i I used to own. The MS2i was virtually unlistenable with any music except metal. They were truely GRATE-O's. Since getting my HF2 about a month ago, they are the only cans I listen to. They are GREAT rock/metal headphones and are VERY GOOD with any thing else I...- jimmyjames8
