I noticed this thread is very focused on the flagship Teak model but is there much feedback on the Walnut? I bought the Walnut today along with my first DAC (Creative Sound Blaster E5) as a bundle and it feels like a huge leg up compared to what I'm used to hearing before...

well my DJ headphones are not suited to carrying to school- and my middle pair (MDR-ED31LP) got stolen so now i'm using the really cheap Sony headphones (the acoustic twin turbo one which isn't neck-chain).

I've decided to order the EX51 (in Blue) from Bluetin for about $52aud. I'll post again when I get them and report how they went! Thanks for your help guys~

i heard they are pretty decent too- but the build quality/durability is an issue for me.. surprisingly, my sony stuff has lasted thus long (even the cheap sony headphones- not counting stock).

Hey, what do you guys think of the Sony MDR-E888 vs. the EX51, EX71 and the Sharp ones? I just realised they are only about $10 more but seem to be regarded quite highly? Any views? I like bass- but I guess I don't want the really sharp sounds which I've heard with my cheapo Sony headphones on...

Those canalphones seem to be good- and I wanna try out this isolation thing without spending too many $$- Bass is good for my dance tracks~

I think it might be worthwhile to upgrade your car speakers/setup if you really care about sound quality in the car. Canalphones are definitely not suited to city bicycle riding IMO. But thats just my opinion~ car horning and being able to hear cars and trucks on your sides and behind you are...
