Are MF X-cans V1 still relevant? Upgrade tubes or amp altogether?
I like the amp but it's probably 15 years old. I see new amps come out with better components for less money. I just wonder if my money is better spent on a new amp in the $200 range or just better tubes? Also, I've seen people recommend solid state amps for AKG cans rather than tube.- igor21000

Are MF X-cans V1 still relevant? Upgrade tubes or amp altogether?
As the title states, would I be better off investing money in a completely different (and newer design) amp or is X-cans still relevant given right tubes? I'm not interested really in updating the internal components. Please see my signature for current gear with the addition of the AKG K7XX...- igor21000

Valves/tubes in Ontario, Canada?
I'm looking to upgrade my X-cans v1 and need some good tubes. Is there a place around Kitchener that may carry such parts? Thanks- igor21000

Formatting a linux partition (back to NTFS) on my portable HDD?
Thanks for the help guys. I took the 'Disk Man't' route and that seems to be working just fine! I can't believe I didnt think of that option. I've done it few times before, I guess I didn't think windows could format the Linux partition. Muchos gracias!- igor21000

Formatting a linux partition (back to NTFS) on my portable HDD?
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, or forum for that matter, but I didn't want to register to a linux forum for one small question. I have an external hard drive split into two partitions, one is an NTFS windows partition and the other is a linux that I used for Suse OS. I no longer have...- igor21000

replacement foam tips for ER-4P earphones
So I've had the medium sized olives (I believe) and they're pretty comfy! I think they're better than the dark grey foam tips originally supplied by Ety. I can't say if there's any big difference in sound quality between these tips and ety tips, I haven't done any comparing really. Overall I...- igor21000

super.fi pro for $120.00
Be careful with e-cost. I once ordered sennheiser headphones from them and it took them a long while just to get them in stock. If you want them fast, make sure they have them in stock.- igor21000

replacement foam tips for ER-4P earphones
Yea, I went through some more topics and decided to go with the olives. I'll try them out since they cost less than the yellow foamies. I ordered the medium size. Anybody know how they compare to the original black ety foam tips?- igor21000

replacement foam tips for ER-4P earphones
Thanks for the help. I checked out all the links and the best/cheapest one seems to be iDealSound, which according to the DiscountEarphones.com site, is the sister seller on eBay. Next purchase after the yellow foamies will be the olives. They look comfortable! Cheers!- igor21000

replacement foam tips for ER-4P earphones
My original black foam tips are dead. I'd love to try out the shure yellow foam tips but they are soo hard to get a hold of for a decent price here in Canada! I tried the official Shure dealer but they're a ripoff. Every other place on the net either can't export these out of US or they're...- igor21000
