I prefer the Er2se to the Er4sr. Instruments have a more realistic tonality, bass is better and I do not hear less detail compared to the Er4sr, in fact I am wondering if it is more detailed as I have noticed things in familiar recordings I don't recall from the Er4. The E2 is not a compromise...

I received my Er2se 10 days ago from Amazon and the new double flanges came with them, along with the usual others. Four pairs of different sizes.

4sr as a reference for Classical and Jazz; the 3xr taking care of Metal and Rock. That would cover it. The Er4sr is perfect for Classical.....

I have both and tried with adapter. They still sound different to me. The E4 a little cleaner sounding and more detailed. Of course I could be imagining it, yet when I got the Er4sr on first hearing I was confident something was different about the sound.

I'm still trying to decide if I should get the ER2SE when I already have the ER4SR. I suspect it's mostly redundant.

How do you get a consistant seal and position in the ears for good sound? I seem to be doing it the same yet get a different effect every time. Earlier today a thin distant treble harsh sound, then later on seemingly putting them in the same way I get a round expansive realistic sound with great...

Not too many impressions on the Er2se/xr for some reason.

I tried the large triple flange tips again today (Er4sr) and did not find them as uncomfortable as before. Perhaps I will adjust, as I find them smoother and more natural sounding than the small, which have more of a treble emphasis with my ears; massed orchestral strings in the upper register...

Is there a reason why the larger stock sound better, (and how do they sound better to you) Just more likely to get a better seal? I should try them again to compare. They are a a little too big for my ears. Etymotic needs a middle size. Two sizes do not fit all. .

How do tips with wider nozzle openings affect the sound of Etys? On other IEMs wider bore could make quite a difference, usually better to my ears.

I was comparing the small triflanges that came with them. The ones on the Er3 are a little bigger and better for my ears. You have to put them side to side to notice. The other large size ear tips provided don't fit my ears and hurt.

I tried them a couple times and could not get a good sound compared to the regular tips, and just left them after that. not enough depth was the problem likely.

You haven't found an equivalent from another maker? not sure what to do now as the foamies don't work for me.

Has Etymotic changed the standard eartips? I just got an Er4sr and the tips were smaller, not as long and more narrow than the standard that came with Er3se. The new ones do not give the same seal, with less bass and general thinness to tone. When I used the old ones from the Er3 the sound all...

I am afraid I don't understand your reply. Specific language is difficult in these matters, I know. Between the two I was wondering if the Er4sr has some improved quality that makes it an upgrade or not. Or whether we are simply talking about the balance. I have yet to come across a post where...
