Audeze Mobius review / impressions
FWIW, USB headsets being low volume on PS4 is a common issue. I know Steelseries had a firmware update to solve it with the Arctis 7s (wireless, but they use a USB dongle), but general googling around shows it comes up a lot.- geoelectric

Audeze Mobius review / impressions
Mac does the same as far as I know (and did when I was checking the Mobius’ mic—iTunes went pretty low quality). My understanding (and at the end of the article you posted as well) is that this is a BT limitation in general. 5.0 should have enough bandwidth to support bidirectional AD2P or a...- geoelectric

Wireless or Bluetooth? RF wireless doesn’t have this issue. And you can play music behind a chat on Android/iPhone?- geoelectric

Audeze Mobius review / impressions
That’s normal, and isn’t the headphone. Bluetooth music profiles don’t have a mic option, so when you use the mic you’re switching to the BT headset profile meant for cell phone calls. It only supports really tinny sound because it’s a voice-only codec. You wouldn’t be able to do full-fidelity...- geoelectric

Audeze Mobius review / impressions
Out of curiosity, for people who say they prefer Music as the EQ, are they resetting it every time they power on--it seems like the headphones don't remember their last EQ setting? The only things I've found that seem to carry over are volume (which is managed by the source, as a general rule)...- geoelectric

Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
The MDR-1000X headphones look somewhat slimmer to me, but it's at the cost of spacious cups. Sony's headphones tend to have smaller spaces for your ears. The Sennheiser PXC550s are getting good reviews and look somewhat slimmer. Momentums are very pretty, but I don't think the ANC is quite as...- geoelectric

Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
That's weird. I'm pretty sure I'm on 1.0.6 and mine are as effective as they were out of the box.- geoelectric

Sony MDR-1000X
That's a total dealbreaker for office or school headphones, which are common use cases for NC. The QC35s leak a little, but not nearly as much as my 1ABTs. I'm bummed to hear this is a problem because that, along with the non-existent bass (I'm waiting for post-break-in reports on that one)...- geoelectric

Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
I have crossfade wired w/ XL pads and auditioned the wireless. The QC35s are more comfortable, though with the XL pads the Crossfades aren't bad. The default pads are uncomfortable. Bass is better on the Crossfades (no surprise, that's v-moda's thing). You cannot sleep with either on, I don't...- geoelectric

If you do, I'd love to read a direct comparison of the two, especially around build and fit.- geoelectric

Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
I'm in the camp that actually likes the QC35 sound too. It's not as nice as my best headphones, and resists equalization and a bunch of other things that keep it well out of audiophile status, but as a set of "fun" headphones I think they sound very good. And compared to Bose's older...- geoelectric

Sony MDR-1000X
Interestingly, I like my QC35s precisely because they block voices and tapping better than anything else I've tried to date, except maybe the QC20s (which have more passive isolation). That's why I'm so interested in how the 1000Xs do there, because if they bring better sound to the table while...- geoelectric

Sony MDR-1000X
Can you compare NC at high/mid/low frequencies? Pretty much everything is good at getting rid of a constant hum, especially low-pitched, but mid-range voices and high-range tapping (like keyboards) are where the comparison tends to go towards Bose up to now. How well does it do damping a TV...- geoelectric

Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
My issue with the 1ABTs is that they sit on my ears. I use them as headphones at home to complement my NT5 soundbar, and they sound great with Sony's low-latency codec, etc. But they're so shallow that my (admittedly large) ears end up smushed. They effectively become supraurals with a handy...- geoelectric

Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Weighing in on a couple of apparently variable issues: I can hear voices near me. High (female, mostly) voices are damped less than low (male, mostly) voices. In all cases, though, voices are significantly reduced and sound much further away. My noise floor is extremely low for Bluetooth...- geoelectric
