Melodious MX-U8 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Just read your post..now THAT interests me as I was considering either the Melodious or the breeze. I think it was you that sent me s post that said the breeze was a better unit stock. May I ask what your impressions are since you have had both and also what issues do the melodious have?- GenpattonJames

Melodious MX-U8 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Is there a thread that actually discusses the "Sound" of the stock unit? The title says nothing about modding the stock unit and I see one person asking about the sound...one post and I think he gave up. It's not that I don't appreciate what's being done, I think it's great but I am sure a lot...- GenpattonJames

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
I assume you mean the breeze audio xmos u8? If so the the only place I can find it is a Chinese website, Tobaigo and I'm not even sure if it's 110 volt. It's not on eBay yet. Any suggestions?- GenpattonJames

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Thanks for the suggestion, i thought about it but I am worried the hub would leave the U12 always powered on an also introduce additional noise. I would rather use th melodious if it works. Thanks for the suggestion though.- GenpattonJames

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
BTW the reason I am mentioning the Gustard needing the five volts is I believe that the apple camera connector kit will not supply this. I will also be using whatever I choose with my audio server, but it would be real nice to plug in my iPad once in a while as well. I know the max it can output...- GenpattonJames

Gustard U12 USB Interface 8 Core XMOS chip
Hello guys, I have been following this forum for a while now with great interest. Amazing what some of you are doing in taking something that has been engineered, studying it and then tweaking it to sound much better. I don't have those skills but love to read about your results! I have a...- GenpattonJames

Audio-gd Digital Interface
Curious that I have seen several people mention that the DI improves sound from CD players and the like, yet there is no evidence on Kingwas site that it is made for that, it does not do any reclocking or up sampling on any of the inputs. Seems to me the only reason to purchase this would be...- GenpattonJames

New Audio-gd DAC-19 [10th Anniversary Edition]
(but the myth that tube amps are inherently better than SS died a long time ago) Funny, I never heard a thing about that..in fact Tube amplifiers are making quite a comeback these days. La Audio, Yaqin, Ming Da and Jolida to name a few Chinese lower priced tube amps. Then of course you have...- GenpattonJames

Reply to review by 'genpattonjames' on item 'MHDT labs havana'
Thanks for the review! I couldn't agree more and I am glad someone took the time to put up a review. I have the Havana Balanced version, using balanced outputs. I have had more than a couple friends come over and bring their super Up-sampling and over sampling DAC's only to leave puzzled as to...- GenpattonJames

Suggestion and Autosuggestion in the Assessment of Audio Products
There is quite a bit of evidence to support Patrick on what he has said. A quick search on Google expands on what he has said quite a bit.Although if I paid eight hundred bucks or for that matter fifteen hundred bucks on a set of of headphone cables I would be very adamant that they sounded much...- GenpattonJames

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
How about this: I have a pair of Hitachi HMA-7500 Mosfet Amps I use to power my subs in my home theater system and on a lark one day over Christmas I took one of the amps, plugged it into the output of my DAC and plugged in my audeze LCD-2 headphones into the headphone out of one of those...- GenpattonJames

First post...and have some questions regarding headphone amplifiers.
Hello everyone, here is what I have so far in my system: Sources: Sony X777ES CD player. Logtech Squeezebox v 3 Ipod Classic loaded with lossless songs, fed into a Wadia, then into a Monarchy Audio DIP classic. I find myself listening to the Ipod most times as it is convenient and...- GenpattonJames
