Nice review.. From the OP's review it sounds like they may have a similar sound sig to the old Soundmagic PL30's which I still use at times and absolutely still love because of their wide soundstage. I might give these a try hoping they will be better than the god awful Beta V2's I bought one...

You probably have a defective pair. My GR06 doesn't have that problem. The VC02 I have seem a little louder on one side than the other though.. I don't really care for the sound sig of the VC02 so they're not worth the bother sending back if they are even defective. Contact the store you bought...
