Headset vs. Headphones + mic for gaming

I've been using a blue snowflake as my gaming mic for two years now and it works like a charm. The mic is on my desk at about 1 meter from me and people hear me well. It may be not as good as a snowball, but for gaming it gets the job done.

    ATH-M50 needs a new jack

Hello.   Here is an image of the pinout of a 3.5 mm plug. You can then figure out which wire goes where with the conductivity test on a multimeter. To do your test connection, don't forget to connect the ground on the big plate of the connector.   I hope it helps a bit.

    Musical Sharing Thread 1900-1960s

For this kind of music, I like to listen the GMMY radio stream (http://www.gmmy.com/). The website look like a Nigerian scam, but once you find the winamp/wmp button you're good to go.

got little dot mk 3 can i connect fiio e7 to it ?

Yes, you can use the E7 as a dac only, but you need an adapter. http://www.fiio.com.cn/product/index.aspx?ID=22&MenuID=020303

    Amplifier/ IPOD Rubber Bands

The one I got with my E7 was a simple rubber wristbands like this ones http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-Silicone-Wristbands-Wrist-Bands-Rubber-Bracelets-/270704494233?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item84b7825221

    programming involving FLAC

I think that the flac format is not a key problem in this project since it's the music stream that your will analyze and it will be the same process for any music format.   Here is the documentation about the c++ flac lib.   http://flac.sourceforge.net/api/index.html   Also, this guy...

    Mouse -Fi

I have a cyborg R.A.T.7, but if I had to buy a mouse again I would buy a R.A.T.5 because the additional adjustments available on the 7 hardly justify the aditional cost.

New to hi-fi. Looking for meaty DAC/Amp for metal/prog.

Have you try to use the E7 without the Logitec volume controller and use a usb cable to connect it to your pc instead of the 3.5 mm input jack? If you use the 3.5 mm input jack, you are not using the DAC feature and you amplify the noise of your soundcard along with the music.

    Regulated power supply for Cmoy

I found the part list that go with the schematic on twistedpearaudio, but I don't understand why there is three DC out. Is the DC out 2 a ground? If yes, will it completely replace the virtual ground and still work with a battery? I will probably end building both single and dual regulator...

    Regulated power supply for Cmoy

Thanks a lot, it may be a bit overkill for a Cmoy, but propably a lot of fun to build.

    Regulated power supply for Cmoy

Quote:   There is a different LM317 regulator for the positive side and the negative side or it's the same part with a different pinout indicated une the datasheet? Can I use the virtual ground of the amp for the ground you mentioned?

    Regulated power supply for Cmoy

Thank you for the informations about the TLV1117. So If I understand, I can remove the lower 317 and connect each pin of the upper TLV1117 to te exact same place of the lower regulator circuit? This way one regulator can do both sides?   thanks for the schematic.

    Regulated power supply for Cmoy

I thought during the last week on how I can use a cheap linear unregulated power supply with the cmoy I built and I did this circuit scheme. The right part come from tangentsoft.net cmoy instructions.       Do this two LM317 regulators will compensate for the lack of regulation from...
