What amp can you recommend to unleash the full potential of DT150? (Oh no, my wallet!)

I agree about the high gain (DT150 + FiiO E12). Sounds punchier and energetic.

I don't use the Bass EQ, always set them to "0". The info you quoted (impedance adjustment) might explain why DT150 sounds optimal despite lower amplifier output in that mode mentioned above.

I am using DT150 with FiiO E11. Best sound when the amp set to Low Power mode (the hidden switch) and gain set to High. Seems weird as theoretically it should be the opposite.

I have read somewhere that listening on low gain is much preferable, but maybe not for DT 150. This headphone perform much better in high gain (FiiO E11): it's like a painting with 3D realism, whereas in low gain it's just like a normal flat painting - useful for some purpose I think. Anyone...
