I definitely do understand the reason why you have convinced yourself that the 2019 model sounds better. However, I like to know what technical changes there are in the 2019 model. The sound being "very easy to listen to" is just the typical trademark of the Tera-Player.

Please do not give incorrect information, up to 128GB (and maybe even bigger) does not only work on the later models, it works fine on all models. You know this very well, as you I tested it for you with my model, which was #5 of january 2012.

Micro SD cards should indeed also work. Make sure you format them in FAT32 format. Any SDXC card (64GB and bigger) will come formatted as ExFAT by default.

As far as I know is that besides a change to the random algorithm, nothing has changed. And as others also commented, the thing is built like a tank. And mine was as good as new. Then only your piece of mind remains, and you paid a lot for that.

It still baffles me that you are willing to pay more than 3 times for just a newer battery (which only costs a few bucks).

I noticed that "Tool - Lateralus" is in the list. Although all tracks have the HDCD code, only the 1st song (The Grudge) has gain enabled (but no peak extend!). None of the other tracks on this album have any feature of HDCD enabled. No wonder it is not labelled HDCD ...
