It's been a couple of weeks since I got my new NFB-15 (2014), really happy so far. Pairs awesome with the HE-4 (which really benefits from lots of power)      

And a cheaper one also, can you elaborate on what did you do regarding the cabling to the A1?

Cant complain. I really like this new amp, great quality build, and for the price (300 usd shipped) it's just awesome.

+1 on that, I just got the NFB-15 (2014) from Audio-gd and compared to my old iBasso D7 it's night and day difference, more opened, detailed, more bass. I know that the D7 it's more of a portable amp and goes about 150mWpc but it just did not sounded good plus it had some distortion at higher...

Just got the 2014 version of this AMP and it's great, it drives really well my HE-4 which i was driving from an iBasso D7 (not good combination).   Really detailed, i don't think adds anything of its own it let's the HP shine, no distortion and now I can hear some bass I did not hear before...

I'm tracking mine every 10 minutes, but its finally in my country hopefully i'll get it tomorrow or Tuesday.   Are you happy with the NFB15? What can you tell us about it.

Im afraid its gonna happen the same to me. Did they call you or contact you in any way to let you know?

I guess i should not be worried but i got an email where they told me my NFB15 has shipped but they'll give me the tracking number later.    Any thoughts on this?

According to head direct, this pads and this pads are compatible with all the HE Series.

According to this the newer pads are not as breakable as the older ones? My HE4 came in a hard travel case. Dont know if that helps to know if its the newer or older version

Too bad but it's nice to know there are some nice alternatives,like the alcantaras you've posted. Somehow it seems like they would increase the clamping pressure.   Sometimes i feel like the HE4 are going to fall off my head specially when leaning (eg. reading or writing)
