After one day of testing and burning in, they sound a little bit better now! Problem is really the comfort, they aren't that comfortable and after one hour my ears will sweat fountains. They also seem to leak some sound.

I know but those are above my budget, how about the Adidas hd 25 pads?

Working on it right now ;) I placed them directly in my PC to burn in.

I received them today! It took 8 days to ship! Very fast. First impression, build is good. Not that comfortable on my left ear. More later! Edit: Heavy, maybe too heavy bass. Lacks treble I think. Not that convinced on my first encounter. Is there any way to improve the treble?

Do the Adidas pads affect the quality of the sound on the JVC? What are the cons and pros?

Quote:   I can always upgrade (or expand my collection) to the Grado's if I don't like this sound. ;) The problem is you can't test the S500 in a store nearby since they are only available in Japan.

Quote: Including shipping cost of 16$. I hope I don't have to pay extra import duties. I already ordered the S500 for €42 so that is really a bargain.

Thanks! That was convincing enough, too bad I don't have money on my paypal yet. I will order this one soon and add myself to this group of JVC Ha-s500 owners. :D Edit: ordered it via another paypal account! Can't wait.

The Grado SR80i is in the Netherlands 139€ (yes that much!). The JVC is 56$, that is approximately 42€, so 3x as much as the S500. With solid I meant the Grado's earpads/shell seem to me more vulnerable than these.

Should I as a beginner try these instead of an Grado SR80i (which I love, but isn't as portable (read, solid) as these)? This one is almost 3 times cheaper, so not really comparable but I would like to hear some opinions about it.
