Agreed. It works well with a neutral source since it puts a bit of warm into the midrange. Still my favourite on my Hugo 2, even after trying all the megabuck iem’s. Nothing has beaten the sultan in terms of musical engagement

Expectations are low…may be too much focus on new hardware instead of improving existing hardware.

The other annoying thing is that i have to go into ifi.local every time it starts up to turn off the software volume control. why cant this setting be saved?

It's not only the recent tidal max issue, I reported the MQA passthrough issue over a year ago and it can't be that difficult to fix given the zen stream didnt have that problem

I guess it's time to move on from this company. It's a good product but the lack of firmware updates with no definitive timelines isn't the customer experience I expected from this company, especially when the competition has updated their firmware to better support tidal in a timely manner.

Any impressions on a benchmark level 2 channel speaker system ?

thanks. i think i'll give it another month but if there's no updates, i'll be switching out of this unit. It's great that we get a response through head-fi but it is unacceptable for the lack of support or clear timeline on the firmware side for the past 8+ months regarding: 1) MQA passthrough...

comon ifi...it's almost end of jan. at least provide a timeline on the tidal firmware update. speaking to other manufacturers, it wasn't a complicated item to implement

This is because ifi needs to update the firmware for tidal connect in order for the streamer to grab the flac files.

hard to say what it is....last firmware update was from July and they never fixed the MQA passthrough problem that i mentioned months before that update
