    Stax energiser rebuild (SRD-5)

Did not go as i planned. I couldn't get the BIAS high enough and the sounds was awfully distorted. I did not test at full voltage but i gave up and put the old stuff in. Buying a non sb unit doesn't cost so much so i think i'm better of buying one of those instead.

    Stax energiser rebuild (SRD-5)

The new year started with some good luck. Apparently there are three SH-1 diodes in my sb unit. But don't worry, i will still keep the PCB and draw a schematic just in case i want to put it back.    I also found the multi-voltage...

    Stax energiser rebuild (SRD-5)

I acquired two Stax ''new'' SR 3 and one SRD-5sb unit. I have had them for a while and i am very pleased with their sound  but i hate not being able to use them for movies or games. The reason is that the energiser get it's power from the amplifier so they can't charge the headphones just from...
